My cute Odeco-chan :)

I love these Odeco cuties for a long time! RecentlyI had the chance to get one with a good price, and couldn't resist her :D
I customized her a little. Changed her eyes, gave her heart shaped eyebrows, and a lovele and soft brown hair.
Her name is Jeliza-Rose. I named her after the lovely girl of Terry Gilliam's movie, Tideland.

Mimi Chocolat :)

Long time no see :)

As you can read in the previous post, some time ago I had some personal issues, and even my relation with my favorite character (and brand) was affected.

Since last September, I've been trying new things, I've been experimenting, and I've rediscovered my love for handmade things, for drawing with pencils and paints, for lace and vintage. So far, it's been a great experience :) you can check my progress on my other blog and Etsy shop (links bellow).

But..., I've always felt divided! I LOVE doing the work I do with Ribonita, but I miss my vectors, my kawaii characters and all the sweetness around them.

I've been thinking a lot about these matters, trying to reach to a conclusion.
Some say that an artist, designer, whatever, should have just one style of making things. I agree that one should have a very distinct personal style. But what if you live divided? What if "just one" isn't enough?
In my case, I need these two forms of expression to feel complete. My "grown up" side needs the quiet, soft, handmade, imperfect, hand drawn world of Ribonita, but my "little girl" side is also very alive, and it needs the candy kawaii to be happy too :)

So, I will continue my path dedicating my time both to Mimi Chocolat and Ribonita. They coexist within me, so they both can have a space in the world.

And that's it! You can follow both ways of my expression, or just the one you like the most :)

*Fresh Start*

Dear friends,

I've reached a key moment in my life where I need to go on cleaning some things that are still bugging me.
Some of you know that I've been through some bad experiences during the last few years, and I´ve had much more "downs" than "ups".
In the last few months I've been experiencing some good changes in my own self, and I've decided to keep on learning and trying to grow, and to keep on changing the things that I know still aren't well.

I LOVE internet and the WONDERFUL friends that I've made here (some of the best I have), but I feel my "mimi chocolat" presence is full of memories of times when I felt completely lost.
I know I'm human, and I will always fail, but at least I want to try to be a better person to myself and to the ones that are part of my life.
So, I've decided to let go of many things that don't make me feel well, and this "name" is one of those things. It is not who I am!

I have just started a new blog and Flickr account, and you are more than welcome to visit me :)

My mimi chocolat things will still be up until I have made the necessary transitions of all the things that matter.
My shop will be up until the the day the new one is ready to take it's right place :)

I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of you that have been supporting me and following me here, and wish you all the best :) from the bottom of my heart!

Para além da loja Bigcartel, podem também encontrar as minhas coisas no Etsy.
Porquê duas lojas? Bem, para já a visibilidade é maior, e depois existem clientes para ambas :)
O Etsy tem maior projecção fora de Portugal, além de que existindo a possibilidade de deixar feedback, existe um maior à vontade na aquisição dos meus artigos.
O Bigcartel tem a vantagem de ter uma taxa fixa, o que me permite listar artigos em maior quantidade, e além disso as minhas queridas clientes portuguesas sentem o à vontade de um contacto directo, para por exemplo pagamento por transferência bancária (muita gente não aderiu ainda ao Paypal).

Parte do estacionário que criei para a letra "A" do alfabeto que estou a ilustrar.
Vou criar para todas as letras do alfabeto :)
Amanhã este já estará disponível na minha loja.
É estacionário para imprimir, e contém papel de carta e envelope, postal, etiquetas, bookplates, stickers, papel para scarpbooking.
